The "problem" is because LH is a "WORLD FAMOUS" ROTE-LEARNING SJKC. The school teachers have taught them a few of these key penanda wancana and kata hubung. depending on the picture.ġ) The key here is to make sure the children can identify the NILAI-NILAI MURNI from the passage.Ģ) There are some DOs and DON'Ts - DO NOT REPEAT what was written in the passage - example, if the nilai murni is mentioned in the passage as "bekerjasama", when writing the ulasan, if the same word is repeated (bekerjasama), no marks will be given, so use alternatives like "bergotong-royong" or "bantu-membantu".ģ) DO use a variety of penana wancana and kata hubung and DO SO AT APPROPRIATE SENTENCES (the key problem here). I know some parents ask their children to copy down the CONTOH a few times but that will be rote-learning, I hate to teach my son rote-learning although that is the prefered method by the school. These are the steps I used for each and every genre. and the a few days later, a COMPLETE CLOSE BOOK karangan. so he can refer to get a"feel" and write with confident, he has to make his own facts and rangka since the titles are different.
The book also include rangka karangan, so also must read that.Ĥ) Then, I get him to write 2-3 karangan of the same genre - I make up the TITLES myself, so they are different from the contoh. I get him to read the few contohs that are given in the book. ģ) For each genre - example, biografi - say, "Aku Sebatang Pen". ġ) Get a good CONTOH KARANGAN book - the one recommended by LH for Std 4 is quite good.Ģ) BM karangan is divided into a few genres - surat rasmi, surat tak rasmi, fakta, biografi etc etc. Would appreciate any tips or tuition teacher recommendation.
